My baby boy Jules was born 3 months ago, and I realize now how I lacked originality for his first outfits and his toys.
His wardrobe comes from French brand “Petit Bateau” (super famous in France), his unique toy is Sophie la Girafe (also super common in France), and I still don’t have anything to decorate his room (for the simple reason that I am living between Paris and LA, but still…). Shameful, for the son of a shopping-addict. Some measures needed to be taken.
Then I remembered the new website of my friend Raphaële Steiner, who, unlike me, was very inspired by her pregnancy and created Cookie’s Bazaar, an online shop where she only distributes independent artisans, with handmade objects (decoration, fashion, toys…). The perfect place to look for original and unique presents!
Here is a selection of the treasures I found on Cookie’s Bazaar:
First, who is Cookie? It is Raphaële’s daughter, the adorable little girl on the pic above. Her parents nickname her like this because they want to eat her…cute!
Today, a lot of brands ride the trend of handmade stuff, but Cookie’s Bazzar website really highlights each artisan, presenting them one by one in a dedicated category (Meet the Artisans).
Since the creation of Initials LA, I have been trying to promote young designers (Margaux Lonnberg, Stéphanie Vaillé, Bollywood Bazzar, Misiones, Mad in Love…), thats’s why I am 100% with Cookie’s Bazaar philosophy.
The website, launched in October 2014, gathers 11 artisans so far, in Fashion, Decoration, Toys and Accessories.
My crush in this category is Daisy and Bump Art, for her colorful and cheerful paintings.
Impossible to resist this Retro couple dolls from Alma Handmade!
Raphaële also created a Christmas category , with very inspirational gift and decoration ideas for Xmas.
