Neutral tones

I’ve been surprising myself wearing colorful outfits recently (remember this tropical look?), but leopards do not change their spots…I definitely feel more comfortable when I am wearing black, white or neutral tones. I combined 3 old pieces of my wardrobe for this outfit: a grey IRO dress (currently on sale on Vestiaire Collective!), camel boots and a beige trench coat. Neutral but chic, don’t you think? You can shop the look at the end of the post!😘

Tie-Front Shirt

shein ploka dots top fashion blogger

The crop top trend is cute, but when you are a 32 years old mother, you can’t dress like when you were in your 20’s. I mean you could, but you don’t want to anymore. Your style changes, your fashion goals too. However, I love the tie-front shirt, especially when combined with high-waisted jeans. The collar keeps the shirt classic,  and the tie lets you show a sliver of stomach. This cute polka dots top from Shein  (for $10!) convinced me to show my belly again!

Parfaire Medical Aesthetics

I am not going to lie to you: since I had my kid almost 3 years ago my skin changed, and not in a good way. Bye bye plumped and glowing skin from my 20’s, and welcome dark circles, dull complexion, and fine lines. Oh, and let’s not forget about the lion’s wrinkle, the one that automatically appears when you become a mother, because you won’t stop frowning and worrying about them from the moment they’re born until…well you just won’t stop !

I thought of trying fillers, it’s true….especially since I moved to Los Angeles, where injections are way more common on young women (yes, I am still considering myself as young at 32…am I right ?) than in Europe (I am French).  But before I jump into it, one of my blogger friends recommended a non-invasive treatment, dispensed at Parfaire Aesthetics in Pasadena : the Silk Peel Facial.

10 Tropical Pants to shop now

What do you think of the tropical trend? I am usually not a big fan of colorful outfits, but the tropical print has these holiday vibes that instantly put me in a good mood. Plus it’s kind of kitsch, retro and super feminine! You can find all kinds of tropical fashion items this season: off the shoulder tops, dresses, blouses…but my favourite are culottes or jumpsuits. I’ve listed below my 10 favorite tropical pieces to shop for the summer:

5 Last Minute Mother’s Day Gifts

It’s Tuesday, 5 days before Mother’s Day,  you have a super busy week of work, and you still haven’t found a gift for your mother…I am in the same situation, except that my mother lives on another continent and I won’t see her before next month, which gives me more time 😜.  Anyway, when you must shop fast and efficient, keep in mind that all women love the following gifts: fragrances (when well chosen), makeup, accessories. Fashion is great too, but hey, we just said that we were in a rush and buying fashion items require a little research and anticipation.

I’ve listed for you 5 gifts that you can shop (or e-shop) easily to spoil your mother right on time.

When your outfit matches the decor…I could not dream of a better location to photograph these tropical pants! I found them at Zara last week, and can’t stop wearing them, wether it’s with sneakers, flat sandals or in this case heels. I also wanted to introduce you to The Noces, a Malagasy ethical designer that creates handmade raffia bags. Straw and raffia handbags are so trendy this summer, it’s the perfect occasion to support local craftsmanship and buy a unique piece!

Slip Dress

Fun fact: this is my Mother’s Day present. Not from last year, no no…It’s my 2017  Mother’s Day present, which is in 2 months…that shows how much I love this dress and needed it as soon as I saw it (I just needed a good excuse to get it 😜)! It’s a perfect silk slip dress for the Summer, with a sexy and feminine cut, the perfect length, a gorgeous nude color, from the Parisian label “Rouje” (I already introduced you to this brand created by Jeanne Damas here). Now I just need occasions and courage to wear it, because I am not really used to dress that sexy…Who wants to go party?

While everybody is preparing for Coachella in LA, I took a trip to Palm Springs last weekend, enjoying the calm before the big storm of the music festival. This place can be so peaceful and breathtaking! We shot this gorgeous Fabric Hunted and Collected ikat striped jumpsuit at the bottom of the mountains, and in the Mirage House, an art installation by Doug Aitken that overlooks Palm Springs and the desert, and takes the form of a mirrored ranch house.
