Most of the Parisian people who live in Los Angeles will tell you this: when we are homesick, the Figaro Bistrot in Los Feliz is THE café-boulangerie where we meet to get our French fix. The little patio on the sidewalk (you rarely see this in LA), the windows with vintage-inspired French inscriptions, the round tables and the rattan chairs, the croissant and éclair au café…everything is made to make you feel like you’re back home. And the theme of this week’s look goes perfectly with the decor: Parisian.
The French style has been described in a million different ways: effortless chic, minimalist, feminine but not too sexy, with an ability to combine timeless basics with more trendy and cutting-edge items. Well, this look is a combination of all of this: the white trench coat is a basic that we all should have in our closet (read my previous post about it here), and my favorite way to wear it is open, to give it a “négligé” style. Then, I am wearing this red printed blouse, from Rouje (the label of the French style icon Jeanne Damas), a brand that totally embodies the simple, easy-to-wear yet utra-feminine style of the French woman. And finally, kick-flare jeans for the “trendy” touch.
