Last weekend, I was invited to the Coachella festival for the first time. I will talk about my Coachella experience very soon on the blog, but meanwhile, here’s the look I picked for the first day of the festival!
A few weeks ago, I was talking about an earthquake I felt during my pregnancy, in April 2014. It was my first year in Los Angeles, and even if it was a relatively small one, it totally freaked me out!
When telling this story to a friend, she told me about an emergency pack she keeps at home in case of a natural disaster. At first, I thought she was being dramatic, so I asked more people, mostly people who were born and raised in California, and have been through a few natural disasters like earthquakes, wild fires and flooding. Everyone told me the same thing : that, I should have an emergency kit at home, as well as an emergency plan and a meeting point with my family.
It’s not about living in fear, it’s about being prepared, because indeed California could face a natural disaster at anytime, and there are a few things you need to do and know in case it happens. Especially when you have a baby and a family, like me. I encourage you to check out the webiste www.readyla.org, created by the Los Angeles County Emergency Management Department, to be 100% informed on disaster prepareness. Thanks to this website, I found all the information to build my emergency kit (which I had no clue what it even was before) and create my emergency plan…
It felt a little bit like I was in the Walking Dead, packing my survival backpack in case of a zombie apocalypse, but since I am a fan of the series, I had a lot of fun doing it, and I am pretty sure Jules loved it too!
Some looks are shot just for the blog (yes, I swear): holiday styles, outfits where we are freezing in a little dress in December, looks where we feature new pieces we receive from brands. And there are the every day outfits. Those are not the most “wow”, but at least they are real. This one for instance, with a long coat, a white knit sweater and jeans. Basic, right? Well, guess what, that’s how I dress almost every day…sometimes with sneakers instead of the boots to be entirely true…but hey, comfy can be trendy sometimes, right?
PS: did you notice my new travel coffee mug, THE must-have of all Californian girls? I am becoming so L.A.!
After 3 shooting sessions, I finally publish this holiday outfit…it only took 3 different locations, 3 different times of the day and maybe 500 pictures to finally pick 8 of them. If you guys have seen the hilarious Instagram Husbands video which went viral last week, you can imagine what JP experienced for this shooting.
Starting today, I am going to try to talk a little bit more about my life here in LA: the places I like to eat, shop, the designers I discover…I meant to do it since the beginning of the blog, but between my son, work and life in general, I never really found the time.
And I wanted to start with a little spot I stopped by last week: Blue Window.
OK, more than just a look, this post is overall a pretext to show you that Jules made his first steps last week! Which we captured in front of the famous pink Paul Smith wall on Melrose Avenue. I am a very proud Mama!
We all know Palm Springs for the Coachella Festival, which gathers every year thousands of people. But hey, good news! If you happen to visit California outside of April (the month of the festival), there are still really cool things to do in Palm Springs! Here’s my top 5:
Bonjour! If you follow my Instagram and the blog, you know I’ve been traveling and moving over the past 3 years: from Paris to LA, LA to Paris, spending a few weeks in Biarritz in France, Palm Springs in California…but I FINALLY settled in my new home. No more movings. A home I finally can decorate and feel, well, like at home. That’s why I’ve been very excited to furnish it and I’ve been spending hours on decoration websites (the main one being, I confess, IKEA).
And even if I am NOT AT ALL a DYI person (it is as dangerous to give me a hammer as it could be to give it to my one year old son), I definitely want to try this decoration idea found on the French website Côté Maison: to use recycled wood pallets as decoration elements for coffee tables, beds, shelfs…check the following pics and tell me what you think about it!
Once upon a time, there was a place in California, where Saint Laurent, Marni, Jimmy Choo and dozens of designers had outlets. A little paradise called the Desert Hills Premium Outlets, on the 10 highway, right before Palm Springs.
If you’re into the blogger sphere, you must know these super famous LA based fashion blogs: Peace Love Shea, Fashion Toast and Sincerely Jules… Well, we’re not talking about them today.
Those girls embody the LA style like the world imagines it: boho, sexy or ultra-feminine, but LA-fashion is not only about showing legs under mini denim shorts, wearing sky-high heels and lace crop tops (no, it’s not Coachella every day).
New bloggers are now bringing a more urban and edgy style, with an eye on how to dress in the city of Angels.
