Paris Fashion Week started last week, it’s time to make a first recap of the best looks and runways.
Among my favorite trends: white, polar dresses for winter, extra-large masculine trousers, an overdose of camel, oversize coats ( this winter again), and touches of yellow colors, spotted on several runways.
Here is my selection of the best of Paris Fashion Week:
Lanvin’s festival of fringes
On a tweed, military-style jacket, an evening dress or a fur, Alber Elbaz chose the fringes as the main theme of his runway. This ultra-chic collection is certainly my favorite of this Fashion Week so far.
The alliance of White and Camel with Sonia Rykiel’
Sonia Rykiel presents a surprisingly “simple” but elegant collection: she plays with warm colors such as camel, biscuit, and icy shades.
Fabrics are soft, voluminous, cosy, we want to snuggle up in each piece.
My favorite look: the powdered sleeveless fur, worn on a long white knitted dress, which is a gorgeous polar ensemble.
Of course, we noticed the presence on the catwalk of the beautiful Miranda Kerr:
Casual styles and Power Shoulders with Isabel Marant
As usual, Isabel Marant presents a “relax”, urban and rock collection. She plays with the volumes and textures with masculine maxi-trousers, and Powder shoulder jackets.
Here again, we saw clear shades, (white and pale rose), to contrast with leather or metallic fabrics.
Retro Carven Coats
Carven already mastered coats in 2013 with this famous oversize candy-pink coat, and comes back this coming winter with new feminine, retro-inspired pieces in original colors again.
Androgyn Back and White with Barbara Bui
Barbara Bui flexed her wild side for fall, patching together some ferocious coats with panels of lamb’s wool in different textures for a rugged vibe.
The androgyny and rock’n roll style of the brand was reinforced by the contrast of black and white colors.
Luxury and Comfort with Christophe Lemaire
Christophe Lemaire, known for his precise tailoring and oversize outerwear, presents an effortless, Parisian chic collection, layered outfits in monochrome shades. I particularly loved the soft shades coats, such as white and powdered pink, and I am crazy about the extra-large camel trousers, which gives an incredible allure.
Urbanism and austerity with Balenciaga
Alexander Wang opened the show with impressive wool coats and jackets, in electric colors such as this blue that I loved. The first part of the runway, with androgynous silhouettes wearing straight and fitted pants, rounded shoulders, was my favorite. We also noticed that this collection is more urban, with an element on knit on almost every piece.
And you, which was your favorite runway so far?
Bon dimanche! (=have a nice sunday)
